I met this family at a campground in Florida under rather unusual circumstances (read ‘‘The Story of the Reports from the USA’’). Originally from Michigan, they had come to Florida after the loss of their home to take up for the first time new jobs as apiculturists working for a friend who was in the business. (see the report ‘‘Beekeepers in the USA’’). Shortly after my arrival they had to retrace their steps back to Michigan for the opening of the bee season there. More camping was in store for them.
